Jennifer Barlow Grodsky is an award-winning writer, director, and producer based in Toluca Lake, California.

Hailing from the theater scene in San Francisco, she began her love affair with Hollywood as an actress, before realizing her true love… working behind the camera.

She made headlines as a writer with the debut of My Father’s Vodka, an interactive dance comedy revolving around a 70s bikini bar. Movie/music mogul Lou Adler (Rocky Horror Picture Show/Cheech & Chong films) presented this multi-media extravaganza at the Roxy on Sunset, where it played to packed houses, attracting celebrities like Jack Nicholson, Daryl Hannah, Christina Applegate and Michael Mothersbaugh. Next, Barlow wrote Phat Chix an all-girl sketch-comedy show, which played at The HBO Workspace in Hollywood. She also wrote and performed with the award-winning sketch comedy troupe: The Third Floor, Los Angeles.

Teaming up with Chantal Boccaccio, “Barlow/Boccaccio Productions” took off with a bang. The team created and sold three television shows in less than two years, Stringers for A & E, Operation Grizzly for National Geographic and Love/Sex Decoys for the Fox Reality Channel, the latter of which was the highest rated show in the Network’s history.

In between creating television, Barlow produces and directs music videos and films. (Directing Reel) including the Chris Dane Owens’ internet sensation “Shine on Me,” dubbed “Music Video of the Year“ by New Yorker Magazine.  She just completed the sequel for Owens called “Light Speed,” “What Is” for the band ‘Forever My Love No More,’ and the soon to be released “Love Is the Healer” for international recording artist Aeone.

Additionally, Barlow is an accomplished editor having worked for numerous Cable Networks and Film Studios including CBS, MTV, NBC Sports, Fox, A&E, TrueTV, and OWN. She was part of the Emmy Award winning team for Jerry Brockhimmer’s “The Amazing Race.” (Editing Reel)

Barlow is currently developing several TV shows and films including “Players” which is based on her award winning short film “Pretty Twisted.” This controversial thriller debuted internationally at The Cannes Film Festival and was awarded Best Short Film, Best Director of a Short Film (Barlow), and Best Actress (Kim McKeen) at the NYIIFF in New York and Los Angeles.
