HELICOPTER GIRL (aka Rapture)
J. Barlow: writer / director / editor
(w/ C. Boccaccio)
This is my cut of a very unusual project. It all started when we met the real live “helicopter girl,” who insisted helicopters were stalking her on a daily basis. We twisted her quirky “story” into a perverse drama, in which a woman’s helicopter fetish unleashes a horrific childhood memory. I can’t tell you what the horrific memory is, exactly, but it involves an evil daddy, a dead mommy and an unthinkable act under a “mirrored” ceiling fan.
Due to budget constraints, the choppers you see were mostly stolen shots or long-lense trick photography. This short is a “Companion piece” to the feature, “Hover Me”. Both films were co-directed by Chantal Boccacio & scored by Mark Boccaccio. (see below).
